Romance Is In The Aird

Words fail to express what I am suddenly feeling. The gathering of the people is growing larger every day and all the clans are bringing gifts of food, horses, goats, and hand sewn garments. Everyone is smiling. The River Valley, the Ridge and the cave dwellings are filling rapidly. Our Elders are meeting sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles they have long thought lost. Our world is changing.

This new life began with the ending of the 21st century. People with the ability to see into the future knew that all people of earth would become ‘one people’ and would gather together all in one place for earth. The stories of our past were told for hundreds of years as we created new ways of living in harmony. The keepers of our stories say they began thousands of years before time was recorded and now we live by the seasons rather than by time.

“I am excited each and every day to witness this great re-awakening of our world”, said Marion.
“Mark! Look out west, your people are arriving on the plains of Saskatchewan.”, whispered Marion in stunned surprise.

Runners on horseback are bringing news that people of British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Russia, Greenland, Iceland and many others are coming and bringing gifts of wisdom, joy and life here.” Mark told  her with a respect filled tone of voice.

They had been teaching, with Elders, some of the life long stories of their people, and in turn had listened deeply to the life long stories of the Elders of many people. Their keen sense, peace, was felt in the hearts of all who heard the Elders speak. These two people, Marion and Mark, had carried on the stories of their ancestors leaving prints on rocks and drawings in land caves where people’s prints were already there. After they arrived at older campsites they would sit  in a circle and follow the teachings of nature.

They had chosen to live apart in order to reach out to more people with  ‘one world, one people’ teachings while traveling far and wide with their helpers and Elders. As intended, people had shared the teachings with others and thousands were now gathering on the plains of Saskatchewan.

The richness of life that we lost long ago is coming back to life because of the love of peace and harmony that we all are creating on earth and in our universe. This gathering of joy will celebrate the inter-marriages of people who love with open hearts. You can feel the earth moving as people from all over the world leave their homes awhile to join together in unity. We make every moment full.

Some are gardeners whom are sharing seeds and growing ideas with people whom make shelters that include ‘green homes’ for whole communities. Water is precious and we care for our meadows, lakes, rivers and streams by traveling them lightly and visiting the river peoples. These people who know water, speak for the health of all waters still on earth and as water keepers they are women and their families whom help keep water healthy for all kinds. In order to live in harmony we need to listen to the water and rejoice in its well-being.

There is so much vibrancy in energy within each species; be they rock, river, people or stars that words to express this new energy are like shimmering orbs of pure white light.

The more people have told other people where their destination is the more all kinds are arriving here on the west side of Lake Hudson Bay. The Elders have asked Mark and I to be patient and await our marital ceremony until all who wish to arrive are here with us. We had talked about waiting while we rode our horses and prepared our new home as our Elders are wise and we listen well.

The night fires glow in ring after ring around us as the gathering continues to grow. This light made of wood is catching the attention of the riders in the skies so all kinds of wind born nations are sending people too. It is amazing as boat people have been arriving for days now too. It is overwhelming, except for the cheers that each new group receives as they arrive.

Mark and I are catalysts in these worlds as we have traveled to every one of them sharing our knowledge of edible plants, sharing seeds for unusual crops, growing peace with love, and being together as a family in ‘one world of people’. We respect all gifts of sight and passion for saving wildlife that we have learned about throughout the world. We vow to be together always as the last trip of Mark’s took a very long twist of successes and challenges.

We are told by the old one’s it is the people of our universe who will prepare our outfits, food, music, home place and home fire because we have helped so many over the years. We have begun our home as we will live here for a long while.

Crunch. Slide. CRASH!

We can hear the arrival of the sky people, those who live upon the moon and many other planets have surprised us the most by coming back to earth to celebrate with all of us. Our circle is now complete as the peoples of the rock, the waters, all kinds of wildlife and sacred stones have been gathering here for several months.

Tonight we dance and sing with our friends from near and far. We eat meats, green beans, corn and wild rice. We sing our songs which become wrapped together into ‘one song’. We feel love, peace and harmony.

Future Job Warsb

This book gave me some food for thought. It opened up ideas about where jobs will be in the future. It is hard hitting at times offering little hope for job seekers. What are the trends in the world jobs market? Why do people move away from rural family farms? Many find low paying jobs on the fringe of huge cities in the world? Working for low wages without benefits as large businesses manufacture their wares off shore to decrease costs.

Is this the new way in our world? Where does education fit in from K-12 and beyond? Are peoples fundamental needs for shelter, food, water, safety, education and community being met or ignored?

The parents of Newton little children spoke out this week to create a culture in the USA that is inclusive, loving, and raising children in communities that care. I am from Canada and live near Winnipeg and my daughter plays the saxophone. Who cares? Where is the connection?

One of the Newton families used to live in Winnipeg and the little girls Dad played and taught saxophone at the University of Manitoba where my daughter was learning music.  Where is the caring community in Canada? It is also struggling to figure out what an inclusive caring and sustainable community needs to succeed. Canada knows how to send caring condolences to all of the families.

We are all connected in some way to one another. My daughter is buying a saxophone of her own as she loved playing the baritone sax but it was school property. She also has her own flute. Music is now part of her life as she has opened her ideas for careers to include sciences. We need to seek  love, peace and harmony as we embrace our little ones, our teens, our youth, our adults, families, our communities. Within our selves we need to create a culture of peace in order to know world peace . This includes ensuring that we think first with love in order to extend harmony thereby reaching peace.

Future Job Wars needs to be read in order to understand how Gallup came to its findings. Once read it would be great to chat about the book and how we all can change in order to remove the word Wars and replace it with Future Job Collaborations. Please remember to think, listen and comprehend before speaking.

Peace, harmony and love to all.

Romance Is In The Air c (mostly fiction)

Far away in a galaxy, yet to be discovered, comets and meteors roam freely. Usually

they twist and turn, narrowly missing one another, in the free for all that is their

existence. It is rare, but it happens maybe once every 1,000 years, a meteor and comet

collide throwing both off course screeching into other galaxies where they are seldom

seen.

Their galaxy is made of live cells of primordial matter. A thousand years ago a

meteor shot out of the galaxy so fast it failed to burn up. It is rumoured that this meteor

was shot down by USA fighter pilots on training maneuvers in the Yukon Territory of

Canada.

One of the old ones tells a tale of that meteor.

It is said that children used to attend schools and were driven to school by big

orange/yellow buses or in smaller usually 4 wheeled gas gobblers. Well. Most of the

children had arrived at school that day and were at work in their classes, watched over

by diligent teachers, (people who told children how to conform, walk straight, tell time

and speak politely without many questions). A radio reporter was entering the school

with her friend that morning at maybe 9:01am. Another big gas gobbler arrived with a

Mom and daughter inside. Suddenly the cloudy sky overhead was lit up from within by a

source of burning gold. It came swiftly straight down at the gas gobblers. Crackle,

screeeeeeeeeeech, smash and boom. Flashes of electricity rent the air.

The little girl in the gas gobbling van said “Mommy, it’s all white in here”. She opened her door and leaned way outside

staring up into the clouds above.

Mom said ” Stay inside.” The little girl closed her door and continued staring up at the ball of

gold sparks and solid white surrounding it and her.

The white light got bigger and bigger and bigger while the Mom yelled to the women. “Do you

know what is happening”?

They yelled “We see the light too”. They were all looking up as the clouds turned pure

white and whiter and all was white.

Mom got in the gas gobbler and shut the door and held her little girl as everything

turned even whiter. Then the transformer 10 feet behind their right bumper crackled loudly and

burst into flames and flying electric sparks in all directions (transformers carried electricity

back then).

Everyone was very quiet watching the sky above them. It was eerily silent then boom.

Suddenly a large ball of gold flew out of the cloud, over their heads, and high over the

mountains. It spun and twisted surrounded by golden flames with a tail of fire as it tore

across the sky heading way over Crag Lake. Just before it disappeared from sight it

blew up into 3 pieces. The largest spun in a ball of fire all the way to the tip of Tagish

Lake leaving a trail of cells, smoke and fire in its wake. The smaller pieces disappeared right

and left after the US fighter pilot shot it, or so it seemed.

Luckily a very smart trapper saw it go by his home and he collected most of it in plastic

containers which kept it sterile. The US government sent a special plane to suck up the

particles left in the wake of the meteor. Many Yukon people saw the meteor and likely had

particles in their hair, and on their clothes without knowing it because they were so tiny.

Scientists studied the pieces and spent many days looking for more. They also studied the

particles captured by the plane discovering they too were biological in nature and the first of

their kind to reach into earth’s atmosphere and fly through the air.

People from all over came to try and find some pieces and only a few were lucky. The

trapper made $850,000.00 from the pieces he picked up and kept without

contaminating them by using special gloves and containers. Many pieces went through the

snow and ice into the lake, while some landed on shore and were found by meteor hunters.

One of the hunters talked with the little girl’s Mom and found pieces where she had seen the

meteor arc in the sky and saw its trajectory over the school outdoor classrooms and on into

the lakes. He promised to give her two pieces, one for each of her children, but he kept them

for himself or sold them.

This was a very unique meteor, one of the first of its kind to hit earth in 2012 because it

had biological life in it. There were many scientific findings but it changed the people,

the lake and the land it fell on forever. It is said these people who respected it and were

awed by it lead very long happy lives. They shared their stories of that day with the

world through the internet and word of mouth. They were the first to witness this kind of

meteor, but there would be many more coming over the next few centuries. At the time

everyone wanted to know more about the meteor and scientists came and spoke about it as

they discovered more about it.

That is all of the story for tonight as I need to speak with some other people to figure

out the rest of the story. That first awakening to worlds beyond our own that have life

was far more complicated than any one knew at the time. It landed in 3 pieces in the

Yukon where our visitor Mark comes from so maybe he knows more of the story.

Goodnight All. Sleep well.

Breath and Love

Swiftly I turned into the light and blinded by it, I reached out to lean on the rock, but my hand

slipped. An electric tingle began in my finger tips and dipped to my toes as I reached out for

something to break my fall. He caught me, then held me close, until I caught my breath and balance.

Shivers and goosebumps covered me from head to toe. I breathed in deeply for oxygen and found the

scent of him: rich deep forest odours, with a hint of musk.

He chuckled slightly as he lifted one of my ringlets, raised it to his face, felt its smoothness and

gave a little tug as he curled it tighter.

Oh sweet love.

Heart and Home

My heart was beating fast as I felt my face fill with warmth and my smile created dimples in my

cheeks. Heat spread throughout my body as I stared without blinking into his deep green eyes. The same

colour of the deepest part of Emerald Lake in the Yukon.

“You came”, I said.

“Yes I did, I told you I would come as soon as I could, 2 years and more hours than I thought it would

be.” said Mark.

I touched Mark’s face; his cheeks, his forehead, his deep black long hair, and his chin. I felt as if

I was seeing him for the first time, it had been so long, and yet he was so familiar.

“Welcome to our home”, I said.

Yukon Mountains meets Hudson Bay

My hazel eyes looked away from his and gently touched on the fields of hay, the horses, and the homes

built within the valley of one of Lake Agassiz’s beautiful river tributaries, called the Assiniboine

river valley. I knew he would love these people and surroundings soon after arriving and exploring the

world of her Forefathers and Grandmothers. People surrounded them with broad smiles of joy. I

introduced him to everyone in this small settlement; old and young alike were eager to meet this man

because he had saved Marion’s life high in the Yukon Mountains. (Marion is a strong name gifted to her

ancestors throughout the past 1,000 years, in these moments as well as in the future. It was the first

Marion whose green thumbs saved 100’s of plant seeds for the future.)

Celebration, Travelers and Gatherers

It was decided that there would be a feast that night in celebration. Word was sent to all on the

Hudson Bay and the travelers returned saying they needed to wait 4 days as many wanted to come to join

in the celebration. They would wait. It would be a 4 day potlatch.

As the days of celebration came close teepees covered the river valley. Gatherers selected plants from

the green houses that were ready to be eaten. The Old Ones went into the wild by horse back and

returned with what was needed for a joining of two strong people. Flying by their sides came the

eagles and from their pack horses came the smell of dried salmon and buffalo.

Outfits, Horses, River and Cliff Homes

During this time Marion completed the outfit she had made for her mate from her memory of his height

and size. It was the work of 2 years plus many hours. The Grandmothers had made her outfit, which she

had yet to see for herself, but she knew it would be beautiful. I trust and respect the Grandmothers

as they have been my teachers for too many years to recall, plus their love for me is pure and

strong. During the days Mark and Marion had ridden horses throughout the river bottom and high up into

the cliffs where her people could live if they needed to. Each home along the river and cliffs held

protected seeds, dried goods, clothing and all they needed in bags of skin that could be linked

together and lifted by pulleys between the river and cliff homes. Up in two of the cliff dwellings was

a source of pure water from deep within the earth.

Green Houses, Seeds, and Caves

Green houses filled with plants and seeds were within the same caves. Many farmers in Canada and all

over the world had been warned that some of the worlds seed banks had disappeared in floods, while

some seeds were taken by people whom, without reason, refused to share. Their misbegotten idea was

that only they could properly dispense the seeds.

Scandinavia continuously improves the green house designs to operate on limited light while growing

nutrient rich vegetables, fruits, Native Plants and trees. It was a mixture of old traditions and new

found ways of saving seeds and sharing everything. Our Green houses were within the cliff with holes

drilled upward through rock and soil so that they would receive ample sky light for growth. We grow

pumpkins, gourds, peas, carrots, corn, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, lettuce, beets, swiss

chard, and beans. We are delighted that we can grow many fruits including apples of 8 varietes,

peaches, pears, tomatoes, grapes, currents, cherries, blueberries, saskatoon berries, sugar cane,

strawberries, boysenberries, and raspberries. It takes dedication, hard work and joy in growing plants

as well as speaking to our plants as they had done many years ago in northern Scotland. The sky light

covers were closed when needed by people whose tending of plants included the natural ones that

grew on the prairie above the cliffs. In the evening they would pull the covers, over the holes for

sunshine, then anchoring them with stones in a ring around the outer edge of the openings.

As a courier I was fortunate to be able to meet people with brave new ideas that they were actively

trying out. Long ago I had toured a huge half dome made of sunshine passable material within which

grew all of the native plants, trees, marshes, wild mushrooms, ferns and wild plants of western

Canada. Our community just decided to create a smaller dome which would encourage the growth of Native

Prairie habitats.

Peacemakers Community

This is a community of peacemakers. After 4 days all was ready. Mark had been taken hunting by the

women while Marion was taken to the gathering places of precious plants needed for the coming

ceremonies. Her Grandfathers, Uncles and nephews honoured her for her kindness and caring. That night

they all came home tired, smiling and ready for the coming dawn. All was good, the people were

laughing again. Silence came to the people as the sweetness of fresh chosen plants and the pungent

aroma of cooking meats wafted on the night air. Only a few men remained awake keeping the fire going

in the ceremonial ways of old while others gathered at the late night fires where huge pieces of meat

were slowly cooking either on a spit or covered in large leaves and buried deep into the coals of

maple wood fires. Stories of past feasts were shared in whispers round the fires, the Elders spoke

softly passing their knowledge onto the young ones who helped without question and in silence.

All was well.

Everyone slept as a meteor spun in another galaxy….

Future Job Warsa

My original idea was to create dialogue regarding interesting books. The question I missed answering:

Is anyone else reading this book? The Coming Jobs War

I have bogged down in it myself because it feels kind of hopeless. I guess I find the use of the word

war difficult to relate to jobs. The word Wars belong to World War 1, and World War 2 in my mind, whereas jobs

are something that people train for and hopefully win several times in their careers. In the

contexts of training and winning there is a similarity with war because both require training and

winning.

I just have more questions. Some of today’s jobs are in wars and the people in them are

soldiers, politicians, children, parents, aunts and uncles to name a few. My biggest dream is to stop

all wars worldwide. To live together in love, harmony and peace. Are wars necessary for peace?

How do we come up with these words? Jobs and War.

Are jobs as our baby boomers knew them, disappearing?

What kind of jobs should I search for? What about new graduates? Is their hope for jobs, homes and

kids possible?

Most books say ‘be passionate and love what you do’. I agree with that. If only I could find a job

that my injured, exhausted brain could handle I would be delighted. Alas I am one of the many

disabled. Quick thinking, high energy, multi-tasker, are labels often written into advertisements for

jobs. I am lucky if I can get out of bed two days in a row. I need hope and answers so . . .

On November 5, 2012 I attended a Fibromyalgia Support meeting wherein a lawyer was the speaker and

there were about 60 listeners. It was informative, exhausting, and showed how many people need help.

Apparently if you and your family and grandparents, and great grandparents are “credible” then you have

a chance of “winning” your case in mediation. What is credible? This is the question I forgot to ask.

The Coming Jobs War speaks mainly on behalf of the USA. I was part of Canada’s ‘job wars’ for

people with disabilities. It made me sad to hear how insurance companies are taking chunks of people’s

money along with bundles of cash from companies to refuse to pay out insurance funds to injured

people. Why do we give insurance companies money?

Job Wars outcomes could become safety nets if jobs, unions, businesses and staff, all of the people,

helped each other when needed without controversy. Could we all get along better if we cared for each

other?

One insurance company actually took video through the kitchen window; of an ill worker sewing a

Halloween top for her 14 year old daughter. The daughter took off her top to try on the costume and

was filmed in her underwear. Is that what job insurance wars are about? The mother crashed, became very

ill and had to spend days in hospital, due to the ongoing surveillance and actions of the insurance

company. She sued for invasion of privacy. Guess what. She lost.

What happened to face to face conversations?

As human beings we need to discover what we need to do to protect ourselves from spies. Some say

the world has become meaner. One young lady told me that she is sad because when she was younger,

before any iphones etc existed, people would converse on the bus. Today everyone is busy texting or

talking on their cell phones. Where did the smiles go?

Long ago I worked in a communications office where the desks were set up against the back wall of our

tiny cubbies with our computers on those desks facing us. We all had our backs to the opening of our

wee cubbies. People texted each other rather than speak to each other. I turned my desk around

so I faced the opening and smiled at everyone. It helped me better serve the needs of people who came

to us for communications assistance. They smiled back.

Please join me in figuring out how to improve our lives so we can be passionate about what we do.

Together we need to change the way our world works. We need to believe in ourselves. We need to look

at our jobs and get help if they are primarily designed to find ways to label people inappropriately.

I think it is time for people to change our world for harmony, love and peace. Remember to smile.

Romance is in the Air 3012

Like I proposed the year is 3,012 and our world has changed; in more ways than we could ever
have guessed. What has happened in a 1,000 years since our last printing press printed these
words?

Doomed in Darkness BUT there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are saved.
The Darkest night of the year has become the darkest night of our whole lives. The wind has
ripped down power lines every where. We of the Free Press will continue to reach out to all who
may still be around. Get out of the cities. Couriers are ranging far and wide sharing news as
it comes to us. Medicine is hard to find, as are doctors and nurses with hospitals closed down
by the flood and snow storm that hit North America Dec. 21, 2012.

Those chilling words, all in one small paragraph written such a long time ago when fear was
fear for all. Darkness and light caught together even as we learned we were going to live.
Sigh.

We survived. Slowly. We are finding people whom have saved for these days. They have harvested
seeds for hundreds of years in their families and communities. Amazing is the good will among
all people. We are growing gardens in green houses designed and created by Switzerland with
seeds from Canada. As we see life grow and feel the dirt between our fingers we laugh out loud
because it feels so good.

The Free Press is printed on birch bark now, much as early stories were told in writings and
drawings many, many years ago. The couriers carry the news as well as seedlings, oxygen
purifiers and water cleansers throughout the country. We are doing well. People are falling in
love again over bouquets of broccoli and bunches of carrots. What a hoot. We have all learned
how to laugh and to enjoy life in this moment.

I am a courier some weeks, traveling from the shores of Hudson Bay which now are deep into
what was once Saskatchewan, to the low rocky mountains and back again. We use horses to travel
as we ran out of car fuels a long, long time ago. Odd how some names have stuck with us; like
The Free Press and Hudson Bay. I met a man in the Yukon years ago who told tales of times when
wild animals roamed freely over North America and birds flew in flocks in migration patterns
they had known for years. He said he would be coming our way soon, but that was 2 summers ago.

A shadow has fallen over my shoulder as I write. I wonder what it is. He is here, the man from
the Yukon. I am so surprised and yet I knew he would find me one day. Alas 2 years 1 day and 14
hours have passed. I hope he remembers me. As I rise and turn into the light I feel alive and
very, very well.

Future Job Wars

The Coming Jobs War coverI like reading about what might happen in our futures and right now I am reading a book called “The Coming Job Wars”. It is written by the Owner of Gallup, Jim Clifton. What a shocker! Together we will take a look at what he see’s as our future.

Gallup is a huge firm that assesses trillions of things we think about through measuring many different behavioural attributes.  They have found that having good jobs are at the pinnacle of what people feel they need most.

How can we create 5,000,000 good jobs in small to medium size businesses this year? How about 10,000,000 good jobs over the next few years for the USA to create a faster growing GDP. We need each other because we are all interconnected. How many millions of good jobs does Canada need? Please think about it. Ok?

In Canada’s eastern provinces professors have been seeking to understand how what people really need can be added to the information that gives us our GDP.  I read the documents, the brochure style magazine and I remember saying something like ” maybe we should create a different kind of look at our lives from the sense of well-being”. We need new and future thinking to create new good jobs for every person in Canada. We can do this right now.

Over the next few weeks as I read Clifton’s book I will share my opinions of it through this blog. I hope you will take a deep breath, live in the moment, and join me in seeking good jobs. Families need at the very least one good job.

We need one good job in our family right now. I need to find a fantastic University that will give me a scholarship to research well-being, harmony and love towards a PhD.  This is my dream for my future. What are your dreams?

Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Exhausted? Tired of reading work reports, doing dishes and making beds.  Long ago I turned to historical and then hysterical romances with a twist to raise my laughter quotient.

The name of this post is the title of my future first attempt at writing a romance. It is set in the future when air is limited to bottles and valves and tubes. We are living in post 3,012 after the bombing is over and earth is recovering.

Time means little as we forage for food that is new and from the seed storage facilities that survived because farmers world wide kept some of their seeds hidden from destruction.

How can romance of any kind happen? We need love more now than ever before.  Life will go on and we will create new homes and neighbours. Today we live without prejudice.

Aliens arrived long after the bombs because their home planets had suffered even greater damage. Scouts leave to search the Galaxy for survivors and Earth welcomes all who have lived through hell.

How would you like to be involved in this “Romance is in the Air”? It could become a great fun way to positively think of our future.  To generate the ways and means of living harmoniously. Everyone here works and contributes to each small group of people. Money has become great for starting fires but means little as the banks have disappeared.

We live with well-being as our life’s purpose.  Are you interested in love and gifts of promised joy in this moment? I am…
